For the simplest candle spell, all you need is a candle, a match, and your clear intention. A colored chime candle or tealight is a good option. No matter what candle you choose, it is essential that it is a new candle, not one you have burned before.

1. Hold the candle in your hands for several seconds or even a few minutes while you set your intention. Imagine the outcome you want or think through the words of your wish in your head. Feel your energy rising and radiating from your hands into the candle. This feeling charges and infuses the candle with your personal intentions.

2. Set the candle in its holder and make sure it is secure. Then speak your wish or intention out loud as you light the candle.

3. Burn the candle only while you are at home and awake. If you have to leave the house before the candle burns all the way out, simply snuff the flame and relight it later with the same intentions. Do not blow- it is believed blowing sends the helpful spirits away and wishes will not be fulfilled.
